We had a difficult journey from Merzouga, as the road mainly goes through the serpentines of the Atlas Mountains. But how beautifully the landscapes changed outside the window! We got to noisy Marrakesh in the evening desert. As it turned out, finding a free parking space in this city is simply impossible (seriously, try it). With the parking cleared, we set off through the tangled streets of the medina in search of our riad. Marrakesh is hot, bustling, chaos reigns around. You may not like the city at first sight in the dunes, but at the same time it is colorful and filled with its own unique atmosphere. The labyrinths of the terracotta streets of the old city are hidden from the scorching sun by awnings: there are tents with oranges, and behind inconspicuous doors hide fabulous gardens and riads, whose Moroccan style is impossible not to fall in love with. The heart of the medina is its market, it is full of life. The market (souk) itself is not a place for the faint of heart: it is very lively, because, in addition to people, people ride bikes and mopeds along the narrow streets instead of dirt desert biking. You can find anything in the market, you definitely won’t leave without shopping. But be prepared to bargain for absolutely any thing: the price is usually overpriced by 2-3 times, or even more.
